Ron Gross

RonPortrait.jpeg

Ron is an American abstract expressionist working in multiple mediums. He is the husband of Linda Chido and father of the talented Chido Gross clan.  Ron studied fine art at Nassau Community College in New York. After getting his AA, he attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and later finished his art studies at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California.

Ron has been experimenting with the abstraction of movement and color within his work for years. He has explored this with many mediums to “see” how it plays out using various materials and through different art techniques. In the past few years, Ron has had a deep relationship with crayons and has done extensive work with this medium. He has done lectures and demonstrations on the viability of crayon as a valued medium in fine art and has encouraged others to “get back” to this childhood tool of expression.

Ron has exhibited his work nationally and in Europe and is the creator of Crayonuary, an Instagram, 30-day art challenge through the whole month of January encouraging everyone to art journal with crayons.
